Happy almost Summer! If you’re local to the DMV area, you’ve probably had your boat out for the last few weeks…. It’s rained enough here to commute in one! I am so ready for the sun to shine and dry up this lake we’re living in. So – how did cleaning out your closet go? Was it as awesome and emotional as you thought? I hope you grew a little bit from the experience and now you have all this space to add more stylish and current pieces to your wardrobe. ☺ This month I am going to do a little review of “clothing subscription services” and why THEY ARE AMAZING. Continue reading to change your life.
So, I actually have done a couple different subscription clothing services and I want to tell you: it’s not scary or crazy expensive. All of them I went into very skeptical, and expected the product to be cheap. I’m the type of person that when I go shopping, I touch everything and try it all on before I purchase. Online shopping never interested me before, so this was going out of my comfort zone. The first service I did was Fabletics by Kate Hudson. I thought, what’s the risk? – first outfit is only $25. I wouldn’t be that mad if it fell apart after a wear or two. When it arrived (very quickly, I might add!) I was blown away. The quality of the leggings was amazing, and the sports bra was awesome. Needless to say, I was impressed. And a year later, I am still wearing all three pieces of the outfit I purchased (along with the other 938589 Fabletics pieces I have purchased since)! Fabletics is easy to use; every month, new outfits debut. You have until the 5th of the month to decide whether or not you’d like to shop. If so, just shop and you’re set until next month. If you don’t want to shop, or not quite ready to shop right then, simply log in and “skip” that month. No cost, no charge on your card. You can come back anytime and shop and still receive the same discount. It’s great! I know a lot of other services work this way, and as long as you stay on top of it when you don’t want to shop, you won’t be charged a fee.
A recent obsession of mine has been AdoreMe. Yes, lingerie. Eeek. Hope my mother doesn’t read this! AdoreMe is amazing for bra/underwear sets – $39. YUP. Victoria who? All kinds of sizes, colors, patterns, sexy-levels, BATHING SUITS, the works! The quality is comparable to victoria’s secret for way less, plus it’s delivered straight to your door. Exchanges are quick and easy – I am loving it! I got my new bikini for vacation from here and I can’t wait to show it off. This service works the same way, just skip the month if you’re not shopping.
Honestly, life is so hectic with work and a full social calendar, shopping from home and using these services is a time (and $$$$) saver. I truly do believe online shopping is going to be how it’s done in the future – just thinking about going into a crowded mall makes me feel greasy. I have tried and do love Stitch Fix, and Trunk Club is next on my list of adventures in shopping to try. Do you use either of these services?! Let me know YOUR thoughts and experience!
